Welcome to GoWar, the location-based social strategy game for your iPhone and Android mobile phone. Choose your strategy to conquer real places, manage your troops and declare war on your favorite spots to build your empire.
With GoWar you will be able to play with and against real people while roaming around your city and interacting with other players. To get started, just select a target, choose your armies and attack! You can take on your friends on Facebook by inviting them to join the battle and by sharing your victories.
In GoWar players are able to use tanks and different special weapons to attack real places. Are you sure your house is still yours? Download GoWar and find it out.
The aim is to make conquests and expand your empire of real-world places. While playing with GoWar you can accomplish missions, gain badges and become a popular soldier. Depending on your actions and on the way you manage your empire you are getting points and climb the leaderboard. These are the main features, now it’s your turn to prove you’re brave enough to fight!
Territories
Territories in GoWar are linked to Facebook places, which let you set up battles on all your favorite spots contained in the largest social network in the world. Each place is characterized by three main indicators: gold, fame points and military power. Places that have not yet been conquered by anyone are defended by the cruel armies of the Zombie King.
- Gold is the virtual currency produced each hour by the places you own and can be used in the market to recruit new armies and enforce your possessions.
- Fame points are achieved when you conquer a new territory and they allow you to get badges and climb the leaderboard.
- The military power is proportional to the number of tanks deployed on a territory, up to its maximum capacity. Each place must have at least 10 tanks be defended.
These indicators define the level of a territory and are proportional to a place’s popularity in the real life. Gold and Fame points are in fact determined respectively by the amount of Facebook likes and checkins.
You cannot deploy more troops in a place than the amount of its capacity, but you can expand this capacity by selecting one of the special weapons (for more info see the army dealer section).
Commando
Each time you enter the game you can count on a special bunch of soldiers called “Commando”. The Commando’s troops follow you everywhere you go and let you attack places in a 1Km range from your current position. You can also transfer troops from and to your Commando to reinforce the places you own in the nearby. Access the map to get and instant view of the places around you.
Battles
When a target is chosen, you will be asked to select the place you want to attack from and the amount of tanks you want to engage in battle. The result is determined by an algorithm based both on the proportion between the forces used in defense and in attack and on a random component.
Once you conquer a place, some of the tanks from the place you attacked from are deployed into your new territory. You can post your victories on Facebook to win more badges. If you loose a battle, you and your enemy will suffer losses. Activate push notification service to be informed when another player has conquered one of your places.
Badges and leaderboard
Each time you want, you can check your game achievements and status. There are three badge categories in GoWar: the “strategic” ones are achieved when you conquer a number of places, the “social” ones depend on your social network activity and the “special” ones are given to those who perform some non-conventional actions such as conquering places in more than one country or defeating a large number of Zombie King’s troops.
From the leaderboard view you can access the list of enemy territories and check your global ranking or just among your friends. In the profile section you can get a full overview and a quick link to these features. You can also invite your Facebook friends to join the battle and make it more fun.
Army dealer
You can recruit tanks from the army dealer by spending gold produced by your territories. Gold is produced each hour, the maximum cap limit is based on the number of places in your empire.
You can also recruit special troops to make your strategy stronger. Special troops perform actions such as giving you an extra chances to win a battle in attack or in defense mode, increase a place’s gold production or power capacity or increase the range of action of your commando.
Why do I have to connect with my Facebook account?
GoWar uses Facebook places and we therefore need you to access with you account to determine the target you are going to attack. More possibilities are going to be open in the future versions of GoWar, just stay tuned on our blog to find them out.
How do protect a place from being attacked?
When you enter the game you are given 5 Diplomats. Diplomats are very powerful entities that can prevent thet players to attack that particular spot for one week. Access your stock from the GoWar market to find out more information
Can I report a user who I suspect on?
