GoWar Privacy Policy

GoWar’s Privacy Policy intends to clarify how GoWar collects your personal data and how it uses them to provide a better social gaming experience. Please be aware that as soon as you register or install GoWar on your device, you will accept its Terms of Service and its Privacy Policy and you will consent to the collection, storage and use of your personal data as described hereafter and in compliance with the relevant Italian Law.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, GoWar means both the GoWar website and the GoWar application.

Personal Data Collected by GoWar

Personal Data Collected Through Facebook:

• When you firstly use GoWar and you click on the “Allow” button on the window provided by Facebook, you consent to GoWar collecting certain information from your Facebook profile, i.e. the information you choose to share with everyone according to your account settings. These information might include: your first and last name, your profile picture, your networks, your user ID, your list of friends, the login e-mail you provided to Facebook when you registered, your gender, your birthday, etc..
• Such personal information will be accessible by GoWar even when you are not playing it, but you can disable this Facebook default option at any time by accessing the Privacy Settings of your Facebook profile and deleting GoWar from the list of your Facebook Apps. In this case, however, you will not be allowed to play with GoWar any more.
• Please check carefully your account privacy settings at Facebook’s website before loggin in GoWar, in order not to disclose personal data that you do not wish to disclose to GoWar.

Personal Data Collected Through a Mobile Device

• You will play GoWar on your mobile phone or on another mobile device, but GoWar will not collect your unique device identifier, nor your telephone number.

Other Personal Data:

• If you allow the mobile application to do so, GoWar will collect your geographical location each time you play, together with the respective date. You can enable/disable this option by accessing your device’s settings. Please be aware that if you disable the geolocalization feature, your position will not be stored but your game play could be compromised.
• GoWar will also collect anonymised aggregated information about your general Internet and GoWar usage, even through the use of cookies and other such devices, to monitor frequency of use and specific usage of GoWar and use it for statistical purposes, to improve the service, create new features, fix bugs, etc.. This information will not be recorded by GoWar as your personal information.

Personal Data That You Voluntarily Disclose:

• Any personal information or content that you voluntarily disclose while using GoWar and/or that can be viewed by other users thereof (e.g., by posting it on your profile page) becomes publicly viewable and can be collected and used by GoWar and other GoWar users.
• Please check your GoWar account settings in order not to disclose information that you do not wish to disclose.

GoWar shall not be hold responsible for the use that other GoWar users may make of the personal data that you voluntarily disclose while using GoWar.

Use of Your Personal Data

When you firstly access to GoWar and you click on the “Allow” button on the window provided by Facebook, you consent that the personal data collected by GoWar (including the login e-mail you provided to Facebook at the time of your registration) will be used for the following purposes: to register your GoWar account and allow you to play with GoWar; to suggest connections with your Facebook friends and other GoWar users; to keep you informed of your GoWar activities status (e.g. comments from friends, achievements in the game, etc.); to show statistics; to notify updates, contests and virtual rewards; to draw rankings; to post status messages, notes, photos and videos regarding your GoWar experience to your Facebook wall; to provide technical support.

The collection of your personal data for the aforementioned purposes is required in order to let you play with GoWar and to benefit from all its functionalities.

As to posting contents on your Facebook wall, your prior consent thereto will be required each time, in compliance with the Facebook policies. Anyway, you can disable this Facebook default option at any time by selecting the Facebook app GoWar in your Facebook account privacy settings; in this case, you will still be allowed to play with GoWar, but you will no more be able to post on your Facebook wall or your friend’s Facebook wall any information regarding your GoWar experience and, consequently, you will not be assigned GoWar points in relations to this activity. The posting of contents to your Facebook wall, if any, will be subject to your Facebook profile privacy options.

Subject to your specific consent, GoWar might also use your personal data, in particular your e-mail address, to communicate promotional offers and to send newsletters. The collection of your data for this purposes is not necessary in order to let you play with GoWar but, if you deny your consent, you will not benefit from receiving information you might be interested in. GoWar will ask you to express your preference after the registration of your GoWar account.

In choosing wheter to consent or not, please remember that you will always be able to opt-out of receiving further communications from us by sending an e-mail to info@playgowar.com or by following the procedure stated in the e-mail.

Please note that despite your indicated e-mail preferences, GoWar will still send you warning messages in case of material updates to GoWar’s Privacy Policy and GoWar’s Terms of Service.

Storage of Your Personal Data

Your personal data will be stored and processed on secure servers and databases in the European Union by means of computerized procedures. For security purposes, a data backup will be done periodically. GoWar will take all measures reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal data is stored and processed securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the laws of Italy. Please remember that your GoWar profile is protected by your Facebook profile password. You are solely responsible for the preservation of your password and you should keep it secret and confidential. GoWar inform you that databases and servers where your personal data will be storage are kept from Amazon and from Nexcess Web Services.

Sharing of Your Personal Data

The data controller is GoWar Srl, Via Sile 41, 31056 – Roncade (TV). Your personal data collected by GoWar will be made accessibile only to people that GoWar has specifically charged with using the personal data; nevertheless, given that the leaderboard is made publicly available through the GoWar website ( http://www.playgowar.com/leaderboard ), your profile name, your profile photo and your current rank in the GoWar ranking of top players will be disclose to those users that will access the GoWar website, as well as some of your GoWar achievements.

Moreover, your personal data might be communicated to the following third parties.

Other GoWar Users:

• GoWar will not communicate your personal data to other GoWar users, but they will all be able to see your game name and your game profile (including your profile photo). Other information, such as the chronology of your GoWar activities, as well as the information that you might voluntarily disclose while playing GoWar, will only be disclose to the GoWar users with whom you are sharing your GoWar experience.
• Please note that your geographical location will not be directly disclose to anyone.
• GoWar shall not be hold responsible for the use that other GoWar users might make of the aforementioned personal data.

Affiliates and Service Providers:

• GoWar might provide your information to its affiliates (i.e., subsidiaries, parent companies and other corporate entities under common ownership) and third party companies to perform services on its behalf that are complementary to your use of GoWar, e.g. e-mail delivery and hosting services.
• These affiliates and service providers will not use your personal data for purposes other than to provide services on GoWar’s behalf.

Apple and the Apple Store:

• GoWar will not share your personal data with Apple and the Apple Store, but if you choose to use their separate services (e.g. the Market appearing on GoWar), disclose information and/ or grant them permission to collect information about you, then their use of your information is governed by their privacy policy and GoWar shall not be responsible for their use of your personal data. Therefore, you are asked to read carefully the privacy policy of Apple and the Apple Store before using their services.

Your Rights

As to the personal data collected and stored by GoWar and pursuant to article 7 of D.Lgs. 196/2003 (the so called Italian Privacy Code), you are entitled: to access, control, update and/or change your personal data; to acquire more information on the source of your personal data and on how/why your personal data are used; to have your personal data cancelled or stored anonymously or to stop the use of your personal data, in case your personal data are used in violation of law; to oppose to the use of your personal data for marketing purposes.

If you wish to exercise the aforementioned rights, if you no longer want GoWar to make active use of your personal data or if you have any question regarding this Privacy Policy and your rights thereupon, please send an e-mail to info@playgowar.com .

Please note that, should you cancel your GoWar profile, GoWar will delete your personal data and you will not be visible to other GoWar users any more; nevertheless, there will be still trails of you, but only in the chronology of your GoWar activities prior to your GoWar profile cancellation.

Please note that, should you remove the GoWar application from your device, your personal data will still be stored by GoWar and you will still be visible, even if inactive, by other GoWar users. Please note that, should you modify your Facebook account privacy settings and/or cancel your Facebook account, your personal data will still be stored by GoWar and you will still be visible, even if inactive, by other GoWar users.

Changes to GoWar’s Privacy Policy

In case of material changes to GoWar’s Privacy Policy, GoWar will notify you by sending an e-mail and/or by placing a notice on your GoWar account. Nevertheless, you are required to periodically check this Privacy Policy at www.playgowar.com/privacy .

The present English version of GoWar’s Privacy Policy is provided only to let you better understand its contents; in case of conflict between the present English version and the Italian version, the Italian version shall prevail.
